For programs and helpers
It takes a village.
Public health nurses, hospital outpatient clinics, physician- and nurse practitioner-led clinics, midwives, doulas and peer supporters all help Ontario families feed their babies. Add your program so families, and the IBCLCs who care for them, know where to find you. Thank you for everything you do.
Valuing the village
Everyone in the village deserves to be paid fairly.
Lactation support is given mostly by women, caring for mothers and babies, and much of it is underpaid or unpaid. Some of the most skilled help families receive comes from volunteers, and from IBCLCs paid well below their training.
Knowing how the village is paid helps make the case for a living wage for everyone who supports feeding families. Your answers about pay are private and only ever shared as totals.
